Meditation

So what exactly is meditation????? Well it is simply a quiet time away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life and the challenges that brings. It is a time to take for yourself and it is a very important practise that can help to restore the balance of the Mind, Body and Spirit which are only in harmony when they are working as one. Many people think that meditation is something that will require a lot of practise and can appear overwhelming. It can be as easy to begin as taking 15 minutes out of your day, which lets face it we can all spare if we really want to?? You need to be in quiet surroundings and to know that you will not be disturbed. I like to make sure that the phone will not ring, that my mobile is on silent and a candle is lit to set the desired scene. A cd playing relaxing music is always helpful to start off the breathing techniques which bring the body rest and recuperation. The breath is such an important part of relaxation and each breath should be taken down to the toes, the fingers, the scalp etc.... Each part of the body in turn can receive these breaths during visualisation and a feeling of breathing in a white light, a universal energy force is really helpful. You will notice a stillness and a feeling that the body just feels different. You can then take your mind on a journey to a wonderful safe place, a pleasant walk or a memory once shared. You will forget the pressures that are with us all on a day to day basis and the mind will quieten. You are actually on your way to a meditation and of course there are cd's which can help to take you to this place of stillness... Try it and see how it makes you feel. xxxxx When practised daily I really do believe that there are many benefits x
